It should have been started long ago, but the inclination to write a blog for and about the Car 5 Gang was not yet there. We are a loose affiliation of MARC commuters who make the daily trek from Baltimore to DC. We have been variously been referred to as "that commuter trash", "an assortment of knuckle-heads and a princess", "a really fun group of people", "you guys", "those government employees who have nothing better to do than write letters of complaint." We are all of those things and more. Membership is free, well you need to buy a ticket to ride, if you aren't one of those people who think your computer scanner/printer is so perfect that you can forge a ticket (you will get caught.)
Membership has that certain level of churn, i.e. people come and people, but the Gang abides. Over the years some of the best of us have moved up or just moved on. For the rest of us there is the daily political debates, the rants, the wild stories (some of them are actually true, and THAT scares me), the dissection of American Idol and something about dancing, and the irregular Fridays with pizza and beer.
The Gang will know where to find this blog. For everyone else, there is the good fortune to stumble upon this trove of commuter lore. Have fun.
